Scanning cards and event mode
Everything on this page needs the Business plan. On a lower plan these tools stay visible but open an Upgrade panel instead.
Scanning a business card
The + button at the bottom of your contacts book opens the scanner.
Camera permission comes first

Android asks once. While using the app is the right answer — Only this time means being asked again at every event.
The scanner

Point at a card, then tap the button
| Element | What it is |
|---|---|
| Front | Which side you are capturing |
| 100 scans left this month | Your remaining monthly quota |
| Card · Batch · Manual | The three ways to add someone |
| Choose from gallery | Read a photo you already took |
| Turn the light on | Torch, for a dim room |
:::note Scans are a monthly quota The counter above the mode row is what you have left this month. It resets; it does not roll over. :::
Qshot reads the card and shows you the fields it found before saving, so a misread never lands in your book silently.
Batch mode — a stack of cards at once

Pick up to 20 photos — one card per photo. We read them in the background while you review the first ones.
This is the answer to coming home from a conference with forty cards: photograph them all, import twenty at a time, and review while the rest process.
One card per photo. Two cards in one frame will not both be read.
Event mode
At a conference, every contact you add belongs to that event. Event mode tags them for you.

Start one when you arrive at an event. Every contact you add until it ends gets its tag.
Starting a session
Start a session asks two things:

| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Event name | Becomes the tag — "Design Expo 2026" |
| Ends at | Defaults to 11:59 PM |
Starting a session ends any other one. Every contact you add until the end time is tagged with it.
:::warning Only one session at a time Starting a second session ends the first. At a two-day event, start a fresh session each morning. :::
While it runs

A banner shows the event, a live contact count, and the end time. End closes it early.
Everything you add — scanned, typed, or from a QR — carries that tag. Later, filter your book by it to find everyone from that day in one tap.
Who added me
The other direction: people who scanned your card and saved you.
You can add them back with one tap — turning a card you handed out into a two-way connection.
:::note They control whether you see them Each person decides via Let people see that I saved their card in their own privacy settings. Someone who turned it off will not appear here. :::
